Well.... It is almost Christmas. Where has the year gone? More importantly, where has my little girl gone? My baby turned 17 this week. It seems we celebrated for a week. She had a party on Sunday and even though not many showed up, we had a wonderful time. I told her I would change her birthday if I could. I hate that everyone is so wrapped up in the world nowadays that they cannot make time for family. You hate for your children to learn that lesson so early. She cried and my heart ached. On Wednesday, we took her to Shogun for a birthday supper. Her little brother is not fond of the entire cooking in front of you thing. He was wrapped around my neck the entire time. We had a great time though and she was smiling. That was all that matters.
She is doing very well in school and still has that boyfriend. Yea.. He is still around after a weekend trip to Nashville with the family... I will post some pictures of that.
Madison is very sick with a virus. She has had it for two days now. I am guessing that the rest of the family will take it right about Christmas time. Fun! Fun! I pray that little man does not get it. But.. if he does we will get through it just like we have with the rest of them.
Madison was able to spend her "caldwell cash" this week. (this is money that they earn for good behavior, grades, helping others, etc.) She was able to shop and spend it. Well.... My little sweet darling thought not of herself but her little brother. He is very into his trains and hot wheels. So she found a station that he use to play with all his cars. Is that not precious? We came home from school to find it sitting in the living room. She was all smiles.
Mr. Little Man is still the rule of the house. He is talking so much. His latest is singing the Christmas songs with the radio. I have ruined him, I know. I am sorry but he knows most of them now. He is so smart it is scary. He remembers things and tells us where stuff is at. He reminds me so much of Kayla at this age. He may look like Madison but he has Kayla's characteristics. It amazes me how they learn so fast these days. He counts to 10 and then starts over. We have also learned that he can spell his name. He says B..R...Y.. and then starts that again. Oh well, we are in no hurry.. As far as potty training goes... Who cares? He likes to potty one time a day and the rest he just hides.. When he is ready, we will tackle that stage in his life. Taking the passy away was a breeze.... Now maybe potty training will be. Ha. Ok. I am wishing but hey..
We are preparing for Christmas. We have our shopping done and presents wrapped. We are trying to teach the true meaning of Christmas to our children. It seems so commercialized and they must learn the true meaning. Yes, it is fun to receive presents and all but Jesus is the real reason for the season.
God Bless all of you...........Have a very Merry Christmas...
